Our deep clean are called to site to assist social services in clearing hoarder properties

Here’s what our customer, the site manager for an assisted living apartment block said:

“I would like to thank your team of men who attended our site 25th and 26th July. Their names were Sean, Joel and Josh. They were undertaking the task of clearing a “hoarders” apartment on behalf of my team and they did so in a professional and friendly manner. They were respectful of the other residents residing here and were helpful and tidy at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend your services to other developments if the need arises.

I would be grateful if you could extend my gratitude to them all – they would always be welcome on my site.”

Compulsive hoarding disorder can become a serious hygiene issue, leading to dangerous and unsanitary living conditions.  Social services and health professionals rely on our deep cleaning services to ensure that a property is careful cleared whilst the occupant is dealt with compassionately.  Clearing and cleaning a hoarder property is hard work, presenting a number of potential hazards.  The risk of bio-hazards being on site such as – faecal matter, pests and sharps means that our team need to be carefully trained, the situation needs to be risk assessed and appropriate PPE must be worn.

To preserve the dignity of the vulnerable people affected by this disorder and the complex mental health issues that contribute to hoarding behaviour we choose not to show ‘hoarder transformation’ photos.

Needless to say these properties are often in a heartbreaking condition, containing hazardous material and needing a lot of work to clean and clear.   Often the situation has built up over a number of years creating an unsafe environment with blocked exits, blocked access to areas of the property and unusable sinks and toilets.  Our team assess the situation through the process identifying any additional hazards which may be hidden under large quantities of waste and clutter.   Our teams work hard to remove all contaminated matter photographing evidence of what is removed as required by the authorities involved.

In cleaning the property the team use heavy duty cleaning products to help create a safe and hygienic environment.  Washing away years of built up dirt to restore a comfortable living environment.  The team are able to use odour control fogging to eliminate persistent odours in the property so that the occupant can return to a home that is clear, truly clean and smelling fresh.

Our teams take pride in restoring a cluttered and unhygienic environment back into a clean, welcoming home.
