Our deep clean team were tasked to clean a very large concrete floor within 2 polythene tents.  This area is used to store the emergency rescue craft by local charity Portsmouth and Southsea lifeguards.

Our brief from the Portsmouth and Southsea lifeguard was to remove all dust, pigeon guano (droppings) and debris to make this area safe and accessible for their emergency rescue boats.

Before work started the site was full of rubbish and contaminated with pigeon waste.

Pigeon guano presents a serious health hazard and should only be cleaned by trained staff with appropriate PPE in place.  Firstly our team worked to remove all rubbish from the tents and adjacent area. This left a clear site for us to thoroughly clean the concrete floor.

Wearing appropriate PPE our team thoroughly removed all dry debris before pre-treating the concrete surface.  Due to the nature of this listed site we supplied our own generator to provide the power needed for the mechanical scrubbing machines, which were used to remove all ingrained dirt before rinsing and removing all water with a wet-vacuum.  Our team left the floor thoroughly clean enabling the space to be used safely by the Portsmouth and Southsea lifeguards.  Portsmouth and Southsea Lifeguards are a local volunteer organisation established in 1933 providing lifeguard cover for Southsea beach and rescue water craft across the Solent.

Our team were proud to work at this iconic South Coast landmark, delivering a great service for a local charity!
